Data is essential in Moscow for using Yandex.Taxi (Russia's dominant ride-hailing platform), navigating the metro (the world's busiest), and accessing Yandex.Maps (far more accurate than Google Maps for Russia). Note: Russia's internet is heavily filtered — VPNs are widely used to access restricted services.
Tele2's 4G covers Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, and main cities along the Trans-Siberian Railway corridor. Moscow's metro (the vast underground palace-station system) has coverage throughout — the metro WiFi also works.
