Jersey is the largest of the British Channel Islands, a self-governing Crown Dependency with a Norman-French heritage, excellent seafood, and some of the best beaches in Northern Europe. JT (Jersey Telecom) provides 4G and expanding 5G coverage across the entire island. Data is most useful for the Liberation Bus network (Jersey's public bus service), navigating to the island's many beach access points, and booking Liberation Day events in May.

JT's coverage extends across St. Helier (the capital), St. Brelade's Bay, St. Aubin, and all parishes. The island is only 116km² so coverage is essentially complete across all inhabited areas. The coastal footpaths and cliff walks around the entire island have reliable signal. The German Underground Hospital (a WWII heritage site) has coverage at the entrance.

Jersey's beaches — St. Brelade's Bay, Beauport, Grève de Lecq, and Plemont — are the main draws and all have JT coverage. The tidal range in Jersey is extreme (up to 12m — one of the world's largest) and tide prediction apps are genuinely essential for beach access planning. Several beaches are only accessible at low tide.

Jersey has a distinct food culture — Jersey Royal potatoes (the world's best new potato), Genuine Jersey products, and fresh seafood define the cuisine. Google Maps and restaurant review apps are well-populated for the island.

Jersey uses British pounds sterling (GBP) and Jersey pounds (JPY, 1:1 with GBP). Euro is also accepted in many places. Jersey is outside the EU for VAT purposes — some duty-free shopping applies.
